FaithSearch Partners has been retained by Adventist Health in Roseville, California, to manage searches for multiple new members for its corporate Board of Directors. Adventist Health is restructuring its governance function and wishes to bring onto its board people with expertise in specific subject areas. The three areas of expertise of interest to Adventist Health are Clinical Quality/Clinical Integration, Population Health Management, and Human Resources/Human Performance. Adventist Health is a faith-based, nonprofit health system operating on the West Coast of the United States. It is a mission of the Seventh-day Adventist Church in the Pacific Union and North Pacific Union. It comprises 20 hospitals, 23,000 employees, and numerous other healthcare facilities.
For the Clinical Quality/Clinical Integration seat on the board, ideal candidates will have experience in managing quality initiatives in healthcare systems, but could come from other healthcare backgrounds that involve quality measurement and management. Candidates will need an understanding of the emerging trend of payment for quality performance.
For the Population Health Management position on the board, ideal candidates will have experience in structuring and/or managing population health initiatives in healthcare systems, but could come from other backgrounds, such as public health. The desired expertise will involve measuring health within a population, understanding health risks within the population and associated financial risks. Candidates will need an understanding of how population health management is related to emerging payment models.
For the Human Resources/Human Performance role on the board, ideal candidates will have experience in structuring and/or managing Human Performance management initiatives in healthcare systems, but could also come from other backgrounds, such as non-healthcare environments. Experience in a unionized environment is desirable. The desired expertise will involve human resource management, corporate culture optimization, Total Rewards and executive compensation systems, managing systemic change, workforce planning, and performance improvement. Candidates will need an understanding of how population health management is related to the emerging payment models.
“Adventist Health is an outstanding organization that provides high-quality care in a Christian environment while maintaining financial success,” said Ed Reifsnyder, Senior Vice President at FaithSearch Partners. “Successful candidates will need to be experts in their fields and will be compensated, recognizing the level of competency and commitment sought by the company. In addition, candidates need to personally share the Adventist mission of the organization. We are honored and excited to be managing these important searches.”
