Our Healthcare Team

Ed Fry

President

Since 1990, Ed has successfully assisted faith-based organization boards and executive teams in securing mission-minded leaders. He has served as a Vice President/Partner of Witt/Kieffer, the largest healthcare executive search firm, and launched the faith-based practice at Russell Reynolds Associates, one of the “big four” international executive search firms.

Previously, Ed directed marketing and public relations at faith-based hospitals in Illinois and Texas. In addition, he managed the public relations function at the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the premier healthcare quality review agency in the U.S.

Ed holds an MBA from Dallas Baptist University and a BS, Communications degree from Southwestern Adventist University, where he is a member of the institution’s board of trustees. He also serves as Board Chair of the Ardmore Institute of Health, a $70 million national faith-based foundation promoting wellness and healthy living. For years, Ed has been a board member of The Journey, a Texas-based Christian radio station, and has recently joined the board of Faith For Today, the oldest religious television broadcast in the world.

Ivan Bartalome

Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer

Ivan Bartolome joined FaithSearch in 2008 and most recently served as the Administrative Director for Cardiovascular Services at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, the second largest hospital in the metro Kansas City area. Before he was a hospital operations and product line leader, he served several organizations in various marketing leadership roles. Those organizations include: Shawnee Mission Medical Center, The University of Kansas School of Nursing, and three hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Ivan has a Master’s in Health Services Administration from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor’s in Corporate Communication from Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU). He is married to Sonja Bartolome, MD, a faculty physician, specializing in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Ivan has served as president of the Kansas City, Kansas Rotary Club and on the board for the Wyandotte County, Kansas Red Cross. He also served as chair of the marketing committee for the United Way of Wyandotte County’s (Kansas City, KS) campaign committee. In addition, he has served as head elder at the New Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church, on the board of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Day School in Kansas City, Missouri, on the board of a Christian academy in Shawnee, KS, as President of the Alumni Association at SWAU and as President of the Crowley (TX) Area Chamber of Commerce.

Doug Duffield

Senior Vice President

Douglas Duffield joined Faith Search Partners with 25 years of health care and technology leadership experience. Most recently Doug was the Market President & CEO for Adventist Health in Kern County where he transformed the market from a single acute hospital to a comprehensive delivery system with physician network, outpatient centers, multiple hospitals, and post acute partnerships. He led Adventist Health Bakersfield’s quality focus that yielded awards for being in the top five percent of hospitals nationwide from Healthgrades, US News & World Report, and an “A” grade from Leapfrog. In recognition of his leadership, Doug received the Medallion of Honor for Exemplary Service from Kaiser Permanente in 2016 for creating a “One KP” experience for members, improving quality of care, and raising staff and physician engagement. He also served as CEO of Florida Hospital Zephyrhills and as Vice President of Adventist Health Sonora. Prior to his experience in healthcare, Doug spent a decade and a half working with Fortune 500 technology companies Intel Corporation, Sun Microsystems, Philips Electronics and Microsoft Corporation.

Doug has served on the boards of numerous organizations and hospitals including California Hospital Association, Pasco Economic Development Commission, Bakersfield Economic Development Corporation, Florida Hospital North Pinellas and East Pasco Adventist Academy, and was president of his Rotary club in Sonora, California. Doug has a heart for international mission and served Syrian and Afghani refugees at the Oinofyta camp near Athens Greece, responded to the major 2010 earthquake in Haiti, and spent a year in Lesotho at the small outpost Maluti Hospital.

Doug holds a bachelor’s degree in business from Walla Walla University and is Lean Leader certified from Virginia Mason Medical Center and Shingijutsu Global Consulting in Japan.

Scott Kuhlman

Senior Vice President

Scott Kuhlman brings an array of experience in health care practice management and organization growth, spanning over 25 years. Based in Asheville, North Carolina, Kuhlman works directly with the firm’s Post-Acute/Long-Term Care (PA/LTC) clients in the executive search process. His most recent leadership experience has been his service as Vice President of Business and Staffing Development with Extended Care Physicians (ECP).

Scott served ECP in partnership and practice management from inception and was instrumental in the formation of policies and practices regarding operations management, provider recruitment, and business development, that lead to the high quality services and success of the PA/LTC medical practice. His knowledge, willing attitude, and networking skills, lead the company growth across 16 years, to build a physician practice that became the Southeast’s leader in service of the PA/LTC market. In 2007, Scott organized a multi-practice nationally recognized consortium (VISION Group). The VISION Group model served as a platform for PA/LTC practices to analyze “best practices” that were vital to the growth and success of their own companies.

Scott holds a Master of Business Administration. He and his wife are members of the Biltmore Baptist Church near Asheville, NC.

Bryan Fowler

Senior Vice President

As an experienced executive and board member in nonprofit, secondary education, and healthcare, with elite level leadership and technology deployment, Bryan brings over 24 years of deep success implementing cultural, operational, and leadership structures in organizations experiencing a high level of change.

During the past two and a half decades, Bryan has served in organizations as a CEO, CIO, COO, and CTO and was able to help lead and develop new divisions at Arthur Andersen, ADS Consulting, Grant Thornton, Protiviti, KMBS, the United Methodist Church, and Methodist Healthcare/Memphis. He currently serves as SVP in FaithSearch’s Mission Enterprise Division as well as in the rest of the firm. He also is currently CEO for Truitt Consulting Group, an executive advisory and marketing firm with multiple brands.

Bryan is primarily known for trademark achievement in leadership and operational analysis, anticipating change, and applying creative solutions through leadership. Bryan holds an M.B.A. from Mississippi State University and a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. He serves on the four nonprofit Board of Directors including the Technology Association of Georgia’s Health Society, Honduras Outreach Incorporated (HOI), Grace Village and Kennesaw State University’s Masters of Health Management and Informatics Program.

Porsche Schooley

Vice President, Administrative Services

Serving as FaithSearch Partners’ Vice President of Administrative Services, Porsche provides oversight to the administrative support team which assists FaithSearch consultants in executing high-quality search services for the firm’s clients. She holds over fifteen years of experience in the executive search industry, having previously served as an administrative assistant at Witt/Kieffer, where she gained valuable insight into the world of healthcare executive search with a focus on faith-based organizations.

Courtney Fry

Vice President, Research, Process & Marketing

Joining FaithSearch Partners in 2007, Courtney has played a crucial role in research since the beginning of the firm, utilizing a variety of techniques and resources, both internal and external, to identify top level prospects and referral sources. While research has always been a steady focus in her responsibilities, she has served the company in various other capacities including search management, marketing, administrative services, and accounting.

In 2019, she was promoted to Vice President of Research, Process & Marketing. In this role, she is responsible for all research activities of the company, as well as overseeing marketing activities, and working closely with information technology, the consultants, and administrative teams to communicate and standardize processes within the firm.

Courtney holds a BBA in Accounting from Southern Methodist University’s Cox School of Business in Dallas and is currently working on her MBA degree.

Linda Fry

Director, Administrative Services

Joining the team in 2016, Linda provides support and service to the company’s clients, candidates and consultants. In addition, she helps coordinate marketing and social media communication. She holds a BBA from Western Michigan University and over 20 years of experience in the executive search industry.

Greg Barnes

Vice Chairman and President, Mission Enterprise Division

Greg serves as Vice Chairman and as a Board Member, focused on the overall direction and strategy of FaithSearch Partners. As President of the Mission Enterprise Division, Greg provides the operating management for the division and also serves as senior consultant for a variety of national and international clients. He was founding leader of Halftime Talent Solutions prior to its merger with FaithSearch Partners and developed the operating model for the organization as a way to bring cost-effective, high-quality management recruiting and talent acquisition services to the faith-based nonprofit community.

During more than 25 years in retained executive search and global recruitment strategy consulting, Greg has consistently built innovative and effective recruitment processes for his clients. He combines rapid candidate identification and development with sensitivity to matching the right professionals to the unique culture and specific mission objectives of each client.

Prior to the launch of Halftime Talent Solutions, Greg served simultaneously as vice president of U.S. Search Operations and managing director of Global Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice for Futurestep, the recruitment process and talent solutions subsidiary of Korn/Ferry International (NYSE:KFY). Under Greg’s leadership, the U.S. Search Team successfully placed high-demand candidates in key manager, senior manager and director roles in sales/marketing, business development, finance/accounting, information services, human resources, facilities operations, and clinical/technical positions. As managing director for the Global Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice, Greg worked with talented business development and client service professionals in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific/Austrasia.

Before joining Futurestep in 2005, Greg was a senior client partner in the executive search division of Korn/Ferry’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice for eight years. From 2000 to 2005 he led Korn/Ferry’s Houston operations as office managing partner.

In the decade before coming to Korn/Ferry in 1997, Greg was founder and chief executive officer of Alliance Search Management, a national retained executive search firm.

Greg received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion/Psychology from Baylor University and earned a Master of Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas. He resides in Dallas with his wife of 30+ years and has three children.

Laura Weaver

Vice President, Mission Enterprise Division

Laura Weaver brings many years of experience in Human Resources and Talent Acquisition to the team. She joined Halftime Talent Solutions in 2014 as a senior search consultant and will continue her search leadership with FaithSearch Partners as Vice President, Mission Enterprise Division.

Laura’s career began in New York, where she managed recruiting and training for various institutional trading divisions of Lehman Brothers over an eight-year period. She later moved to Dallas and started her own business, which focused on contingency and retained searches for mid- to senior-level positions.

Laura then worked with a talented team of professionals at Dean Foods, where they built out strong capabilities in Talent Management. She was responsible for searches across the organization in departments including Finance, Tax, Human Resources, Corporate Communications, Legal, Marketing, Procurement and IT. She moved to the company’s new state-of-the-art plant in 2012 with responsibility for fast-paced recruiting to ensure the success of new lines being added to the business.

For the past three years, Laura has worked with children’s homes in Southeast Asia and looks forward to seeing how these children will continue growing with a Kingdom-focused purpose. Laura graduated from Mary Baldwin College with a Bachelors degree in Business Administration. Laura and her husband, Ed, live in Dallas.

John Williams

Vice President, Mission Enterprise Division

With over 25 years’ experience as a senior human resources leader, John Williams’ mission is to assist faith-based and faith-motivated enterprise to develop their talent to the highest levels of engagement. John joined Halftime Talent Solutions in 2017 and will continue his search leadership role in the Mission Enterprise Division as a Vice President.

John begins with a strategic understanding of the organization’s vision and mission assessing their leadership and organizational alignments, and provides human resource systems, processes, policies, data or specific talent to help the organization effectively deliver on their mission. John uncompromisingly pledges to manage and help his clients deliver excellence in all they do. His strengths play to employee attraction and retention, employee engagement, benefit design, wellness, leadership coaching and performance management.

John’s human resource leadership includes Senior Vice President, Human Resources for Pursuant, a philanthropic professional services firm; Vice President, HR for ITC^Deltacom, a $500M telecommunications service provider, and has held HR executive and leadership positions with technology services firms including EDS, Clearwire Communications, ActionSystems, and MCI Systemhouse.

John is an active member of the Society for Human Resource Management (SHRM), a worldwide organization for HR professionals, where he previously served as an HR certification instructor, and has achieved certification as a Senior Professional in Human Resources (SPHR). He has been a featured blogger on workforce trends for RCR Wireless News, a leading news and information source for the wireless industry.

After earning a BA degree in Fine Arts from the University of Texas, John has remained an avid supporter of the arts, and performs as a jazz trombonist on his personal time. He resides in Dallas, TX, and has been married 39 years to his high school sweetheart. They are active members of All Saints Anglican Church in Dallas and spend as much time as possible with their three children and nine grandchildren.

Jessica Pommerening

Director of Operations - Dallas/Senior Project Manager

Jessica Pommerening acts as the Director of Operations for the Dallas office and Senior Project Manager for the Mission Enterprise Division. She helps move projects toward completion by performing project and office administration tasks, which typically include production and distribution, file management, data collection, report creation, research, and team collaboration. She joined Halftime Talent Solutions in 2014 as Executive Assistant to Greg Barnes and Senior Project Coordinator.

Jessica also has previous experience in customer service and restaurant management. She served on a CARES Team with Apartment Life where she learned about event planning, budgeting, creating event calendars, and had the chance to minister to residents and management at the property.

Jessica graduated from the University of Texas at Arlington with her Bachelor’s Degree in University Studies, and will complete her Master of Arts in Communication Spring 2018. She currently resides in Dallas with her husband and when she’s not working is usually with her family and friends. She has a love of travel and has been on a several missions trips to places like Germany, Finland, Denmark, Mexico, and the Philippines. While she has enjoyed all the places, Texas will always be home.

Cindi Haworth

Research Manager, Mission Enterprise/Nonprofit Division

Cindi Haworth joined FaithSearch Partners in 2020. In the role of Research Manager, Mission Enterprise Division, she supports the Mission Enterprise team in their searches, as well as being available to help any of the FaithSearch Partners divisions. When researching, she uses an assortment of resources, both internal and external to the firm to get the best results possible.

Cindi has prior experience as a program coordinator where she was involved in researching churches, managing and supporting several programs, customer service, and event planning.

Cindi holds a bachelor's degree in graphic design from the University of North Texas. She lives with her husband in the Dallas/Fort Worth area.

Janna Vient

Consultant

Janna Vient joined Halftime Talent Solutions as a Search Consultant in 2013, lending her experience with faith-based nonprofits and recruitment to reach potential candidates for our clients. She will continue in her role with FaithSearch Partners. Janna earned her bachelors in Business Management from Azusa Pacific University. Since graduating in 2006, Janna has obtained both her insurance and real estate licenses. She has worked in variety of capacities in recruiting and placement, politics, real estate and raising capital.

Before moving to Hawaii, Janna helped manage a real estate program in California pairing private investors with families losing their homes to foreclosure. The program was able to help 45 families stay in their homes with the option to repurchase once their credit was cured. Janna was also involved politically in her community by helping to manage a mayoral candidate’s campaign. During that time she helped raise campaign funds, coordinated all volunteers, organized the candidates speaking engagements and helped manage day to day operations. She also had the opportunity to serve locally a national organization called Pinnacle Forum. Janna helped organize community events, speakers, fundraising and took minutes in board meetings. This provided Janna the opportunity to be actively involved with influential local leaders in serving the community. Community is very important to Janna. Through Pinnacle Forum, Janna was active in bringing LaRed’s Principles and Values to the local schools. This process included coordinating training sessions, fundraising and gathering volunteers.

Janna and her husband reside in Honolulu. She is currently involved in the worship team and community outreach through her church New Hope Oahu.

Diane McGrath

Diane McGrath

Diane’s role with FaithSearch Partners is Consultant, assisting in sourcing and executive placement processes. Diane’s career has included corporate training and development as well as leadership and talent consulting, working with global healthcare, high tech and energy firms in business development and consulting roles.

Diane served as Principal Consultant with Korn/Ferry Leadership & Talent Consulting where she partnered with clients to develop global talent solutions to select and develop effective leaders. Moving from the corporate marketplace in 2015, Diane felt called to work in a faith-based non-profit ministry, joining the Halftime Institute as Admissions Manager and Fellows Concierge.

Diane received a B.A. degree in Spanish and Marketing from Texas Tech University and is located in Dallas, TX.

Higher education searches can present unique challenges. Greg Barnes

Vice Chairman and President, Mission Enterprise Division

Greg serves as Vice Chairman and as a Board Member, focused on the overall direction and strategy of FaithSearch Partners. As President of the Mission Enterprise Division, Greg provides the operating management for the division and also serves as senior consultant for a variety of national and international clients. He was founding leader of Halftime Talent Solutions prior to its merger with FaithSearch Partners and developed the operating model for the organization as a way to bring cost-effective, high-quality management recruiting and talent acquisition services to the faith-based nonprofit community.

During more than 25 years in retained executive search and global recruitment strategy consulting, Greg has consistently built innovative and effective recruitment processes for his clients. He combines rapid candidate identification and development with sensitivity to matching the right professionals to the unique culture and specific mission objectives of each client.

Prior to the launch of Halftime Talent Solutions, Greg served simultaneously as vice president of U.S. Search Operations and managing director of Global Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice for Futurestep, the recruitment process and talent solutions subsidiary of Korn/Ferry International (NYSE:KFY). Under Greg’s leadership, the U.S. Search Team successfully placed high-demand candidates in key manager, senior manager and director roles in sales/marketing, business development, finance/accounting, information services, human resources, facilities operations, and clinical/technical positions. As managing director for the Global Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice, Greg worked with talented business development and client service professionals in North America, Europe and Asia Pacific/Austrasia.

Before joining Futurestep in 2005, Greg was a senior client partner in the executive search division of Korn/Ferry’s Healthcare and Life Sciences Practice for eight years. From 2000 to 2005 he led Korn/Ferry’s Houston operations as office managing partner.

In the decade before coming to Korn/Ferry in 1997, Greg was founder and chief executive officer of Alliance Search Management, a national retained executive search firm.

Greg received his Bachelor of Arts degree in Religion/Psychology from Baylor University and earned a Master of Counseling Psychology from the University of North Texas. He resides in Dallas with his wife of 30+ years and has three children.

Bryan Fowler

Senior Vice President

As an experienced executive and board member in nonprofit, secondary education, and healthcare, with elite level leadership and technology deployment, Bryan brings over 24 years of deep success implementing cultural, operational, and leadership structures in organizations experiencing a high level of change.

During the past two and a half decades, Bryan has served in organizations as a CEO, CIO, COO, and CTO and was able to help lead and develop new divisions at Arthur Andersen, ADS Consulting, Grant Thornton, Protiviti, KMBS, the United Methodist Church, and Methodist Healthcare/Memphis. He currently serves as SVP in FaithSearch’s Mission Enterprise Division as well as in the rest of the firm. He also is currently CEO for Truitt Consulting Group, an executive advisory and marketing firm with multiple brands.

Bryan is primarily known for trademark achievement in leadership and operational analysis, anticipating change, and applying creative solutions through leadership. Bryan holds an M.B.A. from Mississippi State University and a Master of Divinity degree from Asbury Theological Seminary. He serves on the four nonprofit Board of Directors including the Technology Association of Georgia’s Health Society, Honduras Outreach Incorporated (HOI), Grace Village and Kennesaw State University’s Masters of Health Management and Informatics Program.

Ed Fry

President

Since 1990, Ed has successfully assisted faith-based organization boards and executive teams in securing mission-minded leaders. He has served as a Vice President/Partner of Witt/Kieffer, the largest healthcare executive search firm, and launched the faith-based practice at Russell Reynolds Associates, one of the “big four” international executive search firms.

Previously, Ed directed marketing and public relations at faith-based hospitals in Illinois and Texas. In addition, he managed the public relations function at the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations, the premier healthcare quality review agency in the U.S.

Ed holds an MBA from Dallas Baptist University and a BS, Communications degree from Southwestern Adventist University, where he is a member of the institution’s board of trustees. He also serves as Board Chair of the Ardmore Institute of Health, a $70 million national faith-based foundation promoting wellness and healthy living. For years, Ed has been a board member of The Journey, a Texas-based Christian radio station, and has recently joined the board of Faith For Today, the oldest religious television broadcast in the world.

Ivan Bartalome

Executive Vice President/Chief Operating Officer

Ivan Bartolome joined FaithSearch in 2008 and most recently served as the Administrative Director for Cardiovascular Services at Shawnee Mission Medical Center, the second largest hospital in the metro Kansas City area. Before he was a hospital operations and product line leader, he served several organizations in various marketing leadership roles. Those organizations include: Shawnee Mission Medical Center, The University of Kansas School of Nursing, and three hospitals in the Dallas-Fort Worth area.

Ivan has a Master’s in Health Services Administration from the University of Kansas and a Bachelor’s in Corporate Communication from Southwestern Adventist University (SWAU). He is married to Sonja Bartolome, MD, a faculty physician, specializing in Pulmonary & Critical Care Medicine at the University of Texas Southwestern Medical Center at Dallas.

Ivan has served as president of the Kansas City, Kansas Rotary Club and on the board for the Wyandotte County, Kansas Red Cross. He also served as chair of the marketing committee for the United Way of Wyandotte County’s (Kansas City, KS) campaign committee. In addition, he has served as head elder at the New Haven Seventh-day Adventist Church, on the board of Saint Paul’s Episcopal Day School in Kansas City, Missouri, on the board of a Christian academy in Shawnee, KS, as President of the Alumni Association at SWAU and as President of the Crowley (TX) Area Chamber of Commerce.

Athletics Division

Our Athletics Division is slated to officially launch in October 2020.  We’ve been leaders in executive search for healthcare, nonprofit, and academic organizations for years.  We are excited to bring that same experience and enthusiasm to our athletic clients as well.
