Waco Hospital Announces New Chief Nursing Officer

Christine Courtney, RN, MSN, has been appointed as Chief Nursing Officer (CNO) for Providence Healthcare Network (PHN) in Waco, Texas, following a search process managed by FaithSearch Partners.

Courtney currently holds the position of Administrative Director of Nursing for Hillcrest Medical Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma and has over 25 years of nursing experience. Her previous leadership roles include various hospitals in Florida, where she held the roles of Director and Nurse Manager. As CNO Courtney will serve as a critical leader for Providence, overseeing the bulk of patient care at the flagship hospital and its related entities.

PHN is anchored by a 237-bed hospital and is a part of Ascension Health, the largest not-for-profit hospital in the nation. It has been recognized for its advanced performance in cardiac, neurosciences, gastrointestinal, appendectomy and critical care.

Courtney received her Master of Science in Nursing from Loyola University in New Orleans and a Bachelor of Arts in management from Webster University in St. Louis. She will begin her appointment March 3.
