Jean Davis, R.N., Ph.D will become the Paul J. McKee, Jr. Senior Associate Dean for Research at Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College in St. Louis, Missouri. Her appointment begins in February 2014 and the search engagement was managed by FaithSearch Partners.
Ivan Bartolome, Senior Vice President of FaithSearch Partners, said, “Goldfarb School of Nursing and Barnes-Jewish College have a national reputation for excellence in health care. Dr. Davis has significant experience developing nationally funded nursing research, and she has deep academic leadership experience. She is a great match with the leadership team at Goldfarb. I know both she and Dean Bleich are very pleased!”
Michael Bleich, R.N., Ph.D, F.A.A.N., Dean and Professor at Goldfarb School of Nursing, believes that Davis is an ideal fit with the School. He said, “This is a major step forward for the College. She is a Robert Wood Johnson Faculty Scholar Mentor, has served on National Institute of Health Scientific Review Panels, and has received substantial federal funding for her research program and training grants, along with other honors and awards. As a scientist, Dr. Davis has done substantive pioneering research using her knowledge of physiology to examine important issues around fatigue and sleep.” In addition, Bleich noted that “Dr. Davis brings a particular sensitivity to setting high academic standards in a manner that is both gracious and focused.”
