Senior Living Operators Rally for California Fire Victims

Focusing on the safety and comfort of the residents, senior living operators are helping one another. Presbyterian Homes Joins Allina Health as Co-Owner of Geriatric Medical Practice Genevive

Effective January 1, 2019, Genevive, a geriatric medical practice and care management organization headquartered in Minneapolis, Minnesota, will be co-owned by Allina Health and Presbyterian Homes.  The change in ownership will allow Genevive to provide a new model of care for seniors. According to MedCityNews, the organization hopes to move into the assisted living, independent living and senior housing spaces.

Huge Changes — to the Tune Of $8.4M —Coming to Baptist Retirement Community in San Angelo

Baptist Retirement Community (BRC) in San Angelo, Texas, will undergo major renovations over the next eight months. BRC has a 100-acre campus and expects to begin construction in December.  Offering independent living, skilled or long-term nursing, memory care assisted living as well as a personal assistance program and outpatient therapy, BRC will demolish one outdated building, and full remodels of others. As reported in GoSanAngelo, BRC’s executive director said the goal is to bring a “homelike” feel to the residents.

Lutheran Senior Services Begins $70 Million Expansion in Town & Country

Lutheran Senior Services (LSS) is adding a three-story, 156-unit apartment building with an indoor pool and underground parking to Mason Pointe near Chesterfield, Missouri. The expansion will make room for conversion of an existing building into a community center. Exterior walking trails will also be added on the property. Completion is anticipated mid-2020. The St. Louis Post-Dispatch reports that almost half of the new apartments are already reserved.

Immanuel Lutheran Opens New Retirement Facility

The Villas at Buffalo Hill is part of a multi-year expansion effort on behalf of Immanuel Lutheran to offer more senior-living options. The Villas sits on a hill that overlooks Kalispell, Montana and offers a collection of 36 independent living apartments.  According to the Daily Interlake, Immanuel Lutheran’s five-year expansion plan addresses the large numbers of aging Montanans seeking a comfortable place to live.
