Founded in 2011, Hope Haven Rwanda seeks to provide a Christ-centered community that allows the Rwandan people who are at risk to thrive in God’s purpose. In the spring of 2012, the first classes were offered to a handful of students that has now grown to over 350 students. January 2017 marked the beginning of the 6th year of school operations for Hope Haven, and the Board of Directors is seeking an Executive Director who will gracefully succeed, Susan Hollern, the dynamic and respected Founder of the organization.
The Executive Director will be responsible for fundraising and resource development activities in North America and Rwanda, and over the first few months, will work closely with the Founder, who will help transition trusted and nurtured relationships that have been developed in Rwanda. The successful candidate will also help forge new relationships to build Hope Haven Rwanda’s visibility, impact, and financial resources. This position will report to the U.S.-based Board of Directors and will serve as the leader of the organization for all Hope Haven Rwanda locations and staff, including oversight of the Chief Financial Officer, Marketing Director, Director of Operations in Rwanda, and the School Director.
The ideal candidate will have a demonstrated dynamic and growing faith in Jesus Christ, a passion for the mission of Hope Haven Rwanda, and a desire to develop relationships with the Board, staff and stakeholders. He/she should have a Bachelor’s degree, with a Master’s preferred, as well as 10+ years of professional P&L leadership experience, with demonstrated success in nonprofit organizational leadership or relevant for-profit marketplace companies. Experience with donor development is preferred, and curriculum development and/or early childhood education experience would be beneficial to this role. While Hope Haven is headquartered near Denver, Colorado, candidates must be willing and able to travel between the U.S. and Rwanda as needed.
