FaithSearch Partners is pleased to announce that its client, Kettering College, has selected Dr. Lamata Mitchell as its next President, effective August 11. Kettering College is a fully accredited, Seventh-day Adventist, coeducational institution dedicated to health science education in Ohio, with approximately 800 students. The college operates in partnership with Kettering Health, a growing faith-based health system.

With a proven track record of navigating complex organizational partnerships, she brings the experience and vision needed to strengthen Kettering College’s mission and ensure the college continues to thrive and grow for years to come.”
As Chief Learning Officer for AdventHealth, Dr. Mitchell was responsible for creating and communicating a strategic vision that fostered a learning culture and growth mindset. She established the first AdventHealth Corporate Learning and Development team and collaborated with AdventHealth University’s president on creating an ASN program to help address the organization’s nursing shortage. Previously, she served as Vice Provost for Academic Affairs and Student Learning at Pima Community College in Tucson, Arizona, where she was a strong advocate for student success, academic innovation, and educational equity. Earlier roles include Dean of Communication, Social Sciences and Humanities, and Associate Dean of Communication, English and Education at Rock Valley College in Rockford, Illinois.
Dr. Mitchell earned her Ph.D. in English from Northern Illinois University, a Master of Arts in English from Andrews University, a Master of Arts in Publishing and Journalism from Loughborough University, and a Bachelor of Arts in English and Philosophy from Trent University.
