CSU is a growing Baptist university of more than 4,000 students, grounded in a clear commitment to Christ and the Baptist tradition, and situated in Charleston, South Carolina—one of the most beautiful and historically rich cities in the country. With its coastal setting, vibrant downtown, nearby beaches, and strong economic growth, Charleston continues to be one of the fastest-growing regions in the U.S., offering a compelling place to live and serve.
The university is seeking its next Associate Vice President for Spiritual Life and Campus Pastor, a leadership role for someone who brings both a pastor’s heart and an administrator’s mindset. This leader will care deeply for students, be visibly present on campus, and provide thoughtful leadership to a growing spiritual life team—while also shaping systems, planning, and partnerships that allow spiritual life to flourish across the university.
This is an exciting moment to build and expand ministry that reaches the whole student body, meeting students where they are and inviting them into deeper relationship with Christ and faithful discipleship. The ideal candidate will be deeply grounded in a love for Jesus Christ, seminary trained, and comfortable preaching, teaching, shepherding, and leading within a Baptist university context. A steady, relational approach to leadership marked by joy, wisdom, and credibility with students, faculty, and church partners alike is essential.
