Midwest Nursing School Names Academic Chair

FaithSearch Partners is pleased to announce it has helped manage a search process that has led to the hiring of Sandra Burke, Ph.D., RN, APN, FAADE, as the Academic Chair for the Undergraduate Upper Division at the Goldfarb School of Nursing at Barnes-Jewish College.

In this role, Dr. Burke will have responsibility for the oversight and supervision of undergraduate nursing programs within the School of Nursing. She will also be the Director for the School of Nursing’s West Campus.

“Dr. Burke has significant experience leading an academic nursing program for the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing,” said Ivan Bartolome, Vice President at FaithSearch Partners. “Her leadership at their Urbana, Illinois campus helped strengthen that nursing program. Because of this experience, I think she will be a great addition to the leadership team at Goldfarb School of Nursing.”

Burke most recently served as the Clinical Associate Professor and the Director of the Urbana Regional Program at the University of Illinois at Chicago College of Nursing. She is a Fellow of the American Academy of Nursing and the American Association of Diabetes Educators and has received several awards for her service and accomplishments. Burke has also published several journal articles, books and book chapters, and multimedia of her research in the field.

The Goldfarb School of Nursing has more than 800 students enrolled in its undergraduate and graduate degree programs and has a national reputation for excellence in health care training and academic expertise. Its legacy extends back to 1902 with the founding of the Jewish Hospital School of Nursing and continues today on a campus shared with Barnes-Jewish Hospital, St. Louis Children’s Hospital, Washington University School of Medicine, Washington University Medical Center and St. Louis College of Pharmacy in St. Louis, Mo.
