FaithSearch Partners, the leading executive search firm for churches and other faith-based organizations, is pleased to announce its client, First Presbyterian Church of Houston, has selected Stacey Rockwell as its new Director of Children and Family Ministry.
In her new role, Rockwell will serve nursery age children through grade five and their families. Rockwell will shepherd children and families in growing their faith and will maintain the organization of the ministry to inspire, unify and transform.
“Stacey is an impressive candidate having an extensive history in children’s and family ministry and an obvious passion and enthusiasm for the work she does,” said Nancy Jernigan, Vice President of FaithSearch Partners. “With her expertise and along with her ministry colleagues and volunteers, she will help shape and implement a dynamic vision for the children and their families at First Presbyterian, while building strong relationships and promoting spiritual growth.”
With 22 years of experience in children’s ministry, Rockwell most recently served as Director of Children & Preteen Ministry at Covenant Presbyterian Church in Austin, Texas. She holds a bachelor’s degree in dance from the University of Iowa and is currently in the process of obtaining a master’s degree in social work from Texas State University.
Founded in 1838, First Presbyterian Church of Houston is one of the first churches of Houston and continues to influence the city from its downtown location. It is known for its active and highly-involved children’s and youth ministries, with a “Gather, Grow, Go” ministry philosophy. The church is also well known for its Presbyterian School since 1989, serving approximately 600 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.
