Gordon College, one of the top Christian liberal arts colleges in the United States, announces a national search to fill the position of Vice President for Human Resources and Administration.
Gordon is located just north of Boston in the historic town of Wenham, Massachusetts, settled in 1635. With more than 90 academic programs and a student-to-faculty ratio of 10:1, the College fuses a top-flight liberal arts education with an informed Christian faith, providing space for students to explore their unique callings.
Under the direction of President Michael Hammond, and as a member of the President’s Cabinet, the Vice President for Human Resources and Administration provides strategic senior leadership and direction for recruiting, developing, motivating, and evaluating the College’s human capital. This hands-on position is responsible for leading all human resources operations, programs, and services for administrators, faculty, and staff. This position advances the College’s Christian mission and seeks to build a model for what it means to be an intentional Christian workplace in the context of higher education. The Vice President’s mandate will include the expansion of human resources by providing excellent consultative, strategic, and operational services for the campus. The Vice President will also coordinate and facilitate the institution’s compliance with Title IX.
Requirements for the position include a minimum of a bachelor’s degree, 10 years of experience in human resources management (experience in higher education and SHRM certification preferred), a record of active involvement in Christian ministry and local church life; and endorsement of Gordon’s Statement of Faith, Statement of Life and Conduct, Statement on Human Sexuality and Shalom Statement.
