Last week the voracious Camp Wildfire swept through the Northern California town of Paradise, killing more than two dozen individuals, putting thousands in harm’s way, and forcing the rapid evacuation of Adventist Health Feather River, a faith-based hospital owned and operated by a long-term FaithSearch Partners’ client. Staff courageously loaded patients into ambulances, personal cars, and any vehicles available to flee the encroaching flames. By God’s grace, all were taken to safety and survived.
The story of Adventist Health Feather River’s harrowing evacuation is one of numerous accounts of grace and heroism coming out of the California wildfire tragedies. Acknowledging the struggle our friends at Adventist Health and in California will face as they rebuild communities and vital infrastructure, we ask for your support in prayer, thought, and action, and we hope the stories below offer a reminder of God’s love in this season and in all circumstances.
