Seasoned financial executive Michael Mazeres, CPA, CMPE was recently appointed to serve as Senior Finance Officer (SFO) of Florida Hospital Medical Group (FHMG). Mazeres, who has more than 20 years experience in physician practice management and financial leadership, accepted the position at FHMG following a search engagement managed by FaithSearch Partners.
Of Mazeres’ 25 years spent working in finance, 21 have been focused on the healthcare sector and 15 have been in senior-level positions in large, multi-specialty practices. Most recently, Mazeres served as CFO/COO at Select Physician’s Alliance, P.L. in Tampa, FL where he played a key role in transforming 10 unrelated physician practices to commence operations as a newly-formed practice group within a three month timeframe. Mazeres also served as Executive Director at SMH Radiology Associates, P.A. in Sarasota, FL. Under his leadership, the facility saw a 9% increase in annual collections and a 23% decrease in annual collection costs.
