Dallas’ well-known Highland Park United Methodist Church (HPUMC) recently retained FaithSearch Partners to conduct the search for its Director of Music and Arts. Founded in 1916, the church originated from humble beginnings on the campus of Southern Methodist University. Today with 15,000 members, HPUMC stands as a respected institution for Dallas and beyond by offering members and guests Biblical teaching communicated through both word and song.
FaithSearch is seeking a motivated and passionate candidate that will lead the Music and Arts ministry including the Chancel Choir. The Director will report to the Executive Minister of Care and Growth and collaborate with the Senior Minister to ensure the vision and mission of the church is delivered through the choir program.
“Worship plays a vital role for Highland Park United Methodist and we are delighted to lead this search,” said Jeff Jernigan, senior vice president and ministry team leader at FaithSearch Partners. “There are a number of key ministries within the Music and Arts portfolio with national and international reach.”
The selected candidate will lead musically and spiritually, while serving as a mentor for the choral staff, music interns and other affiliates.
“The ideal candidate will lead through music as well as relationships,” said Jernigan. “Being an inclusive communicator will be crucial to creating a sense of community within the choir. The new Director will encourage a spirit of camaraderie and accountability within the group that reflects the mission and vision of the church.”
