FaithSearch Partners announced today the successful appointment of Rev. Dr. Steven Jay Davis as Senior Pastor of First Congregational Church of the Redlands (FCCR) in California. The historic church, built in 1880, is a mid-size congregation made up of approximately 500 members and is a part of the National Association of Congregational Christian Churches.
As Senior Pastor, Davis will lead the congregation spiritually as well as organizationally and will be responsible for providing Bible-based teaching, pastoral care, oversight of educational activities, administering sacraments, and conducting visitations. The church will look to Davis in this role to encourage the congregation’s growth spiritually, financially and numerically.
“Steven has an extensive background in church leadership, but also organizational and strategic leadership, which will serve this role well,” said Jeff Jernigan, Senior Vice President of FaithSearch Partners. “It is our hope and intent that with Steven’s at the helm, FCCR will be in good hands to be led into a fresh chapter of the church’s history, marked by a renewed enthusiasm and dedication to serving the Lord and the community.”
Davis most recently served as Senior Pastor at Community Church East Williston in New York, but has worked at his own company, Steven Jay Davis Resources, for more than 20 years, which focuses on bringing together teams and creating strategic plans to accomplish goals such as initiating a private Christian school, co-founding a mental health organization and promoting quality education. He holds a master’s degree in nonprofit management, a doctorate of ministry, a masters of divinity and a bachelor’s degree in philosophy and religion.
