FaithSearch Leads Director of Children and Family Ministry Search for Large Houston Church

FaithSearch Partners is pleased to announce it has been retained to manage the search for a Director of Children and Family Ministry at First Presbyterian Church of Houston. The church is located in a beautiful area of Houston near the museum district featuring a children’s museum and other cultural attractions.  First Presbyterian Church of Houston is known for its active and highly-involved children’s and youth ministries, which have a “Gather, Grow, Go” ministry philosophy.

First Presbyterian Church of Houston has a rich history dating back to its founding in 1838.  It was one of the very first churches in Houston and continues to influence the city from its downtown location in the years since.  The church is also well known for its Presbyterian School since 1989, serving approximately 600 students in kindergarten through fifth grade.

The Director of Children and Family Ministry will bring a visionary style of leadership and collaborative team leadership skills, will shepherd children in growing their faith, and will possess the organizational ability to inspire, unify and transform.  This role serves nursery through grade five and their families.

“We are delighted to be selected to assist First Presbyterian Church of Houston through this critical search process,” said Nancy Jernigan, Vice President of FaithSearch Partners. “First Presbyterian Church of Houston is an impressive church with a growing, large children’s ministry. The future Director of Children and Family Ministry will need to have a passion for children’s ministry, be able to build strong relationships with families, and promote spiritual growth both in the ministry and amongst staff.”
