FaithSearch Partners is pleased to announce its partnership with Howard Payne University (HPU) to assist with their search for a new Vice President for Academic Affairs (VPAA) and Chief Academic Officer (CAO). HPU is a Christ-centered academic community dedicated to excellence by developing and equipping the whole person for intellectual inquiry, personal and professional integrity, and service to God and humanity. HPU is located in Brownwood, Texas, about 120 miles southwest of Dallas/Fort Worth on the northern edge of the Texas Hill Country, and also operates extension sites in El Paso and New Braunfels, Texas. At HPU, students choose from more than 100 majors, minors, and pre-professional programs in seven schools: Business, Christian Studies, Humanities, Science and Math, Education and Fine Arts, Nursing, and Online Education. Student-athletes at HPU compete in six men’s and six women’s sports through the American Southwest Conference.
The VPAA/CAO is a vital leader of HPU and an active member of the HPU President’s Administrative Council, serving under the leadership of University President, Dr. Cory Hines. The VPAA/CAO reports directly to the President and provides leadership for all academic operations, including the supervision of Academic Deans, the Associate Vice President of Academic Affairs, the Assistant Vice President of Student Success, the Assistant Vice President of Information Technology, the Director of the Library, and one executive assistant. Collaboration and teamwork with the Administrative Council are key functions of the role.
