Baylor Names New VP, Oncology/Surgical Services

 

FaithSearch Partners, the leading executive search firm focused on faith-based hospitals, healthcare systems, colleges/universities, churches and ministries, is pleased to announce Rita Haxton, DNP, RN, NEA-BC has been selected as Baylor University Medical Center’s (BUMC) new Vice President of Oncology and Surgical Services.

Dr. Haxton will be responsible for all Oncology inpatient and outpatient nursing care and post Surgical nursing care for Urology, Colo-Rectal, Hepatology, Solid Organ Transplant, Bariatrics, ENT, Plastics and Orthopedic Surgery. These services represent nearly 250-beds at BUMC.

“I am pleased we were part of the process with Baylor University Medical Center that brought Dr. Haxton to their leadership team,” said Ivan Bartolome, Senior Vice President at FaithSearch. “She has significant executive nursing leadership experience, and I believe she will be a great fit within the organization.”

Dr. Haxton most recently served as Vice President of Patient Care/Chief Nursing Officer for more than 15 years at Rapid City Regional Hospital in Rapid City, South Dakota. She has substantial experience in clinical quality and Nursing leadership development. Dr. Haxton holds a Doctorate of Nursing Practice in executive leadership from American Sentinel University, a Master’s of nursing education from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and a bachelor’s of Nursing from Pittsburg State University.

Baylor University Medical Center is a flagship facility for the North Texas Division of Baylor Scott & White. Founded in 1903, the faith-based, not-for-profit hospital has 1,025 licensed beds and cares for more than 300,000 patients annually.
