Affiliation Agreement Establishes Relationship Between Adventist and Rideout Health

“According to Becker’s Hospital Review, Adventist Health has reached an affiliation agreement with another healthcare system, Rideout Health,” Adventist Today reports. “Roseville, California-based Adventist Health has 19 hospitals and more than 280 clinics in California, Washington, Oregon and Hawaii. Rideout Health has hospitals and clinics in California’s Yuba and Sutter counties.”

Expanding Care with a New Hospital

“A new hospital and healthcare campus is rising right now in the White Oak area of Montgomery County, Maryland, United States, within 15 miles of downtown Washington D.C. The state-of-the-art facility, scheduled to open in May 2019, is part of Adventist HealthCare’s longstanding plan to expand access to care in the region,” according to the Adventist Review. “The hospital building’s exterior will be finished by late fall, and construction will begin on a medical office building and parking garage this winter. ‘The hospital in White Oak will offer the high-quality and compassionate care you’ve come to know from Washington Adventist Hospital in Takoma Park in a new location,’ said Erik Wangsness, president, Adventist HealthCare Washington Adventist Hospital.”

“Avista Adventist Hospital in Louisville, Colo., appointed Jillyan McKinney CEO, effective Nov. 20,” reports Becker’s Hospital Review. Most recently, “McKinney served as vice president of operations at Florida Hospital in Orlando. She succeeds Dennis Barts, who retired.”

Loma Linda University Health Announces Enhanced Health Care Services to Banning, Beaumont

“A significant increase in the health care services provided locally to residents in Banning, Beaumont, and surrounding communities is underway, according to an announcement from Loma Linda University Health. Highland Springs Medical Plaza will be renamed Loma Linda University Health – Beaumont-Banning on October 1. Loma Linda University Health has been offering primary and specialty care at the Highland Springs facility since 2009. Area residents will see a significant expansion of primary care services. Construction of a new primary care suite is nearing completion and is scheduled to open in mid-November.”

“To stem the spread of the opioid epidemic, Kettering Health Network has created an innovative tool for healthcare providers and pharmacists. This tool has the potential to help clinicians provide opioid-free health care,” PR Newswire reports. “Kettering Health Network introduced the Pause—Not all pain is the same program. Pause is a way for healthcare providers and pharmacists to manage chronic or benign pain by pausing and considering alternatives to opioids.
