Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center Selects Randy Surber as CEO
“Florida Hospital Heartland Medical Center in Sebring appointed Randy Surber CEO,” Becker’s Hospital Review reports. “Surber most recently served as president/CEO at Florida Hospital Zephyrhills. His previous leadership roles include serving as vice president/COO for Florida Hospital DeLand as well as assistant vice president of development and acquisitions for Florida Hospital Orlando. He succeeds Bruce Bergherm, who is leaving to serve as senior executive officer of acute care services for the West Florida division of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System.”
Adventist Health Names Administrator of Tehachapi Valley Hospital
“Jeff Lingerfelt, chief executive officer of Hammond-Henry Hospital in Geneseo, is resigning July 28 to accept a position with Adventist Health, a faith-based hospital health system,” according to Dispatch Argus. “He will be responsible for opening a new hospital, Adventist Health Tehachapi Valley, in Tehachapi Valley, Calif. Based in Roseville, Calif., Adventist Health has 23,600 employees serving 75 communities with 20 hospitals, 14 home care agencies, seven hospice agencies, four joint-venture retirement centers and more than 280 clinics.”
Kettering Health Network Plans $60M Hospital in Troy
“Kettering Health Network is planning to build its ninth hospital in Troy. Stretching its legs to the north, the $1.6 billion network announced today it will build the $60 million hospital at the base of downtown Troy where Hobart once stood,” reports Dayton Business Journal. “This will be Kettering Health’s first hospital in Miami County, creating an estimated 120 jobs and likely boosting the downtown with traffic and visitors.” The three-story, nearly 100,000-square-foot hospital should be completed in late 2018.
Adventist Health Announces Closure of Walla Walla General Hospital
“Months of work have to come to an end after new developments halted the transfer of Adventist Health’s control of Walla Walla General Hospital’s services to Providence Health & Services. According to Adventist Health officials, the organization received word that regulatory challenges came up that could last for an unknown amount of time and could prevent the membership transfer. Due to the setback, Adventist Health announced it intends to close facilities on July 24,” KEPR TV reports. “Walla Walla General has faced financial issues over the last ten years. Adventist Health officials say they explored several options, including facility upgrades, looking at new services and searching for new partners that would help the hospital financially.”
Florida Hospital Marketing Campaign Centers on ‘Someday’
“Orlando-based Florida Hospital, part of Altamonte Springs, Fla.-based Adventist Health System, launched a marketing campaign called Someday Starts Today,” according to Becker’s Hospital Review. “The campaign, which includes billboard and television advertisements, videos and other marketing materials, focuses on what healthcare could look like in the future, and how Florida Hospital is working to get there.
