Senior Advisory Consultant
Dr. Sherilyn R. Emberton serves as the inaugural Managing Partner of FaithSearch Advisors, the newly launched advisory services division of FaithSearch Partners. In this role, she leads a national network of seasoned advisors focused on delivering high-impact consulting for faith-based organizations, institutions, and Kingdom enterprises across sectors. Her leadership at FaithSearch Advisors is driven by a passion for empowering executive teams, boards, and organizations to achieve mission-aligned growth, innovation, and sustainability.
Dr. Emberton is also the founder and president of Launching and Empowering Leaders (LAEL), LLC, and a strategic consultant with Ambassador Enterprises, a legacy-minded private equity and holdings firm based in Fort Wayne, Indiana, committed to eternal impact through business and investment.
Prior to her advisory leadership, Dr. Emberton served for 12 years as the 13th President of Huntington University, retiring in May 2025. Under her transformative leadership, the university experienced 34% enrollment growth, expanded to four locations, increased its endowment by $16 million, and raised over $50 million for capital projects, scholarships, and program development. Her presidency was marked by a clear vision for Christ-centered education, innovation, and community engagement.
Her distinguished career in Christian higher education includes senior academic leadership roles at East Texas Baptist University, Lincoln Memorial University, and LeTourneau University, where she served in various strategic positions, including Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs. She began her professional journey in the Texas State Technical College system and spent a decade in private business, gaining firsthand experience in real estate, investment property management, and entrepreneurship.
Dr. Emberton’s influence extends nationally through a wide range of board and executive committee appointments. She has served on the executive committees of the Council of Christian Colleges and Universities (CCCU) and the National Association of Independent Colleges and Universities (NAICU), chaired the NAIA Crossroads League, and contributed to regional economic growth as Chair of the Northeast Indiana Regional Partnership. Her board service includes leadership roles with AgriNovus Indiana, Independent Colleges of Indiana, Elevate Northeast Indiana, Lenawee Christian Ministries, and the Fortitude Fund. She currently serves as an advisory member for the Doden Legacy Trust.
In 2024, Dr. Emberton was awarded the prestigious Sagamore of the Wabash, Indiana’s highest civilian honor, by Governor Eric Holcomb in recognition of her exemplary service to the state and its communities.
